Maddox Hamm, a junior at Scottsboro High in Alabama, won the elite boys high school section with a first-attempt clearance at 17-2 (5.23m) at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Hamm had three opportunities to match the national high school leading mark of 17-6 (5.33m).
