Seth Nelson, a junior at Boise Senior High in Idaho competing for Stacy Dragila Vault Company, won the second flight of the boys high school competition with a first-attempt clearance at 15-8 (4.77m) at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Nelson, competing outside Idaho for the first time in his career, was one of four athletes to clear 15-8, but the only vaulter to successfully make the height on his first opportunity.
