Rancho Bernardo CA junior Ashley Callahan, representing North County Pole Vault Club, won the girls elite high school competition with a first-attempt clearance at 13-4 (4.06m) at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit at Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Callahan, the reigning state champion, improved from a 12-foot vault and third-place finish in the second flight at last year's event to becoming only the fifth female athlete in California history to clear at least 13-4 indoors. It marked the sixth consecutive year the top girls high school performer cleared at least 13-4 in Reno.
