Mounds View MN senior Julia Fixsen, representing Fleigle's Flyers, tied for seventh in the girls high school elite competition by clearing 12-2 (3.70m) using only a short run at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit at Reno Livestock Events Center. Fixsen, who also tied for seventh at the IAAF World U-20 Championships in Finland in July, is still recovering from a serious left ankle injury suffered playing volleyball in August, resulting in her using a limited approach in competition.
