St. Francis Mountain View CA senior Scott Toney, a University of Pennsylvania commit, cleared a lifetime-best 17-4 (5.28m) on his first attempt to win the high school boys elite competition at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit at Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Toney, who won the second flight last year in Reno with a 16-foot clearance, elevated to the No. 4 indoor performer in California high school history and the No. 24 all-time indoor prep performer overall.
