Northwest Pole Vault Club Coach Tim Reilly on Amanda Moll Clearing 15 Feet, Group Success in Reno - UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit 2023
Published by
Northwest Pole Vault Club coach Tim Reilly reflects on a memorable experience for several of his athletes, highlighted by Capital High senior and Washington signee Amanda Moll becoming the first U.S. female high school athlete to clear 15 feet at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center in Nevada. Reilly examines Amanda Moll clearing 15-1.50 (4.61m) in the women's elite section to set national high school and American Under-20 records, along with Hana Moll taking third with a 14-9.50 (4.51m) clearance to become the first female competitors in World Under-20 history to both clear those heights in the same event. Reilly also analyzes junior Ella McRitchie of Bainbridge High winning the girls high school elite section with a 13-8 (4.16m) and Inglemoor High sophomore Jacqueline Jones prevailing in her high school section with a personal-best 12-8 (3.86m) performance. Reilly also explains how instrumental Mike Strong has been in helping train the Moll sisters, leading to the 17-year-old siblings elevating to No. 3 and No. 11 in World Under-20 history. More videos |
